चेअरमन प्रदीप अष्टेकर यांचा पायोनियर बँक मध्ये 106 कोटीच्या ठेवी जमविल्याबद्दल तसेच बँकेला शंभर वर्षे पूर्ण झाल्याबद्दल दिल्ली येथे केंद्रीय सहकार खात्याने त्यांचा खास गौरव करण्यात आला आहे .बेळगाव सहकार क्षेत्रात प्रथमच अशी गोष्ट घडली आहे .हा बेळगाव शहरातील सहकार क्षेत्राच्या मानाचा तुरा खोवल्यासारखे आहे .
यासाठी मर्चंट सोसायटीच्या वतीने प्रदीप अष्टेकर यांचा शाल व श्रीफळ अर्पण करून सत्कार करण्यात आला. यावेळी उपस्थित त्यांनी टाळ्यांचा कडकडाट करून अष्टीकरांचे अभिनंदन केले. त्यानंतर बाळासाहेब काकतकर व वकील अजय सोनाळकर यांचाही शाल आणि श्रीफळ देऊन सत्कार करण्यात आला.
यावेळी सत्काराला उत्तर देताना प्रदीप अष्टेकर म्हणाले सहकारी बँकांवर आरबीआयने अनेक जाचक नियम बसविण्यात आले आहेत. त्यामुळे बँक चालवणे म्हणजे मोठी कसरत आहे.बँकेचे संचालक व सर्व कर्मचाऱ्यांच्या सहकार्यामुळेच हे आम्ही यश मिळवले आहे .ठेवीदारांनी आमच्यावर विश्वास ठेवल्याने आम्ही ही गरुड झेप घेतली आहे.
